Steve Dalton, over at Porter County Politics has an update on the new bills out there to eliminate township government statewide. As you know, around many municipalities there was an issue this past year on the ballot to eliminate your township assessor and put in a county assessor.

I voted NOT to eliminate the township assessor, as there is a lot of trouble in counties with county assessor's offices being over-bureaucratized and being far removed from actual property values.

I want to eliminate costs on all levels of government, but if we should be keeping any part of government, it's our local government. What do you guys think?
